Tour Around Okinawa with the Yui Rail, Recommended Information of the

Just 12 minutes away from the Naha Airport.
The “Prefectural Office Station” is located at the west side of the Kokusai Street, and many tourists use this station to go around the area.

The area around the station is a good starting point and end point for your trip.

Why we say this is because the Kokusai Street which is the main street of Naha is just right around the block. The place is full of souvenir shops, popular cafes and restaurants, place of relaxation where you can relieve your fatigue, and many more.

The total length of the Kokusai Street is 1.6km. Walk and shop around the street, and the day will go by so fast before you realize it (the Yui Rail – “Makishi Station” is located at the very east of the Kokusai Street).

Many events are held at the Kokusai Street which is the central area of the town.

Every year in October, one of Okinawa’s largest event is held at the Kokusai Street. The “Naha Tug-of-War” has a history about 400 years, and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest rope which is 200 meters long.

On the same month of October, there is another event called the “Shuri Castle Procession of Ryukyu Kingdom”, where you can enjoy the beautiful costumes worn during the Dynasty Period.

During the summer in August, there is another big event called the “10,000 Eisa Dance Festival”. We suggest you to check the event information before you head out here.
