A Dreamlike Picturesque Scenery - Fun at Ishigaki Island and Kabira Bay

Ishigaki Island is about 400 km southwest of the main island of Okinawa.

Ishigaki Island is the terminal that connects Iriomote Island, Taketomi Island, the Yaeyama Islands, and Taiwan. If you ever have the chance to visit Ishigaki Island, you wouldn’t want to miss visiting “Kabira Bay”.

Kabira Bay is located in the north-west part of Ishigaki Island, about a 40 minute drive from the city area.

The beautiful panoramic view of the bay has been selected as one of the “100 Landscapes of Japan” and has also been rated 3 Stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan.

The white sandy shore, the beautiful ocean that shines an emerald green, the small birds flying in the bay, the color contrast made by Mount Omoto’s dark green and the blue sky…

You will never get tired of gazing at Okinawa’s world class picturesque scenery. Swimming is not allowed inside the bay because the tidal current is rapid. If you want to see the view inside the ocean, we recommend taking a glass boat.

The clarity of the water inside the bay is so outstanding, it’s a paradise of tropical fish and coral.

The beauty of the ocean that succeeded in culturing the world’s first black pearls is more than you can imagine.

The view of “Kabira Bay” will change based on the time and weather.

We recommend you come visit the bay not only during daytime, but also at night.

If you’re lucky, you might be able to see the calm ocean and a starry sky.
