A reminder of the tragedy of the Battle of Okinawa.The Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters, a 450 meter tunnel complex which was served as an underground headquarters during the Battle of Okinawa was established in 1944. It was finally opened to public in 1970, after it was left untouched for many years.
